Roopa Prasad Doraswamy
Roopa has practiced law for over a decade in India and in the United States of America working on corporate and commercial transactions as well as in areas such as general corporate counselling, immigration, employment and intellectual property law.
As one of the Firm's co-founders, Roopa is in a unique position to advise and work with a diverse client base, from start-ups to multinational companies. She provides full service legal advice on a regular basis to various start-ups and SMEs. She also assists the Firm's clients with their intellectual property requirements.
Her previous work experience includes acting as Corporate Counsel and Head Legal at Infosys Technologies and working as an associate at one of Boston's premier law firms, Bingham Dana LLP (now known as Bingham McCutchen LLP). She graduated from the National Law School of India University with a B.A., LL.B (Hons.) in 1994. She then went on to acquire a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law, Boston, in 1997.
Roopa is admitted to practice law in India, New York and Massachusetts (currently in "Retired" status).
An avid speaker, Roopa has presented at several forums including the NASABA conference in Altanta, Georgia, the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore and at Proto.in in Chennai on several topics ranging from entrepreneurship to doing business in India.
